MY STORY

My passion is supporting women throughout every stage of life. I have over 10 years experience as a personal trainer, yoga teacher, coach and massage therapist. In 2019 I founded Planet Mama to support women journeying into motherhood, which I love, but I also work with women all the way from 18 to 80!

Movement has always been an integral part of my life, from running, tennis, riding and all the sports at school. I’ve always loved to push myself to my max, chasing that endorphin rush.

But after years of punishing my body I realised that this way of moving and living was actually not conducive to good health. The stress of over-exercising plus the stress of a hectic life in London was draining me.

These intense movement practices that had once held and supported me during my transition from a stressful corporate job to a women’s movement coach were no longer serving me. I was depleted of energy, my periods had stopped, my health was suffering and worse - I was supposed to be an advocate of good health!

Movement had become punishing rather than nourishing, but my burnout became a breakthrough: I began to question everything and became convinced there must be another way.

Over time I learnt to slow down, sleep better and I introduced yoga and mindfulness. I further educated myself, read thousands of books, listened to as many industry specialists talk as I could and slowly, slowly started to work in harmony with my body and find the balance my mind and body craved.

learnt to find space, to pause. I realised less is more. Female bodies are not the same as men’s, our monthly fluctuating hormones mean that the stress of over-exercising can send everything out of whack. The same training rules do not suit us, working in harmony with our cycles does.

Our bodies carry us around all day every day, still working whilst we rest, every single moment we are alive and moving is a miracle.

To be healthy and able to move our bodies is a blessing and we should honour that in what we do. All it asks is for good food, mindful movement, hydration and rest to keep going. But society asks that we push harder, work for longer, keep up with the men, stay thin, stay small and rest is seen as a luxury, or even worse, unnecessary.

Thousands of hours of working with women has taught me that we should move to nourish the body, and in turn the soul, rather than punishing it to try and fit in with the latest aesthetic.

It’s these learnings that I want to share with you, so that you can find optimum health in both body and mind.

Let's start this journey, together.
